3 Quick Tips For Romantic Portraits: Wedding Wednesday

Everyone wants their engagement and wedding portraits to look romantic. You want them to be a good representation of you both as a couple and you want to look great. Here are three tips that will help you achieve great romantic looking portraits.

1. Location

Location plays a good deal in this. Now, you don't need to choose a location that looks like it's a secret garden, your photographer can create romantic portraits anywhere, even a parking lot. The thing to keep in mind when it comes to a location is how busy the area is. Most people, myself included, feel a little uncomfortable while taking portraits when there are people watching them. If you can find a location that has less foot traffic, this can help you feel more comfortable. This is especially true on a wedding day. When it's time for your portraits, you will want to take them in a location that is away from your guests. Everyone is so happy for you that they will try to come up and congratulate you which will take away from your portraits.

2. Get Close

This one is SUPER important! You will want to get close and I mean super close. The closer you are, the more romantic it looks through the eye of the camera. This doesn't just mean standing close to each other, but pulling each other in so there is no space between you both. This means gazing into each other's eyes when you're so close that you will more than likely not really be able to see each other's eyes. Seriously, that close. Your photographer will help you get into romantic poses and will push you to get close, it will feel a little awkward at first but your images will look amazing!

3. Bask In Your Romance

This one seems easy right? However, it's easy to forget about the reason you are taking portraits when there is a photographer or other people around. You just got engaged and are getting married! YAY! Remember that fact while taking portraits. Think about what made you fall in love with your fiancé and how they make you feel. Try to forget that there is a photographer present and escape into your own little world with your fiancé. The joy of your love will reflect back into your images.
