Rising Tide Society Leaders Retreat 2018 Recap

Updated: Jan 1

Last month, I traveled to New Orleans for the Rising Tide Society Leaders Retreat. If you are unfamiliar with the Rising Tide Society, it is a group for all creative entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Rising Tide Society's goal and mission is to educate and empower creatives to thrive in the spirit of community over competition. The TuesdaysTogether groups are a way for us to come together in local communities across the world and help empower each other. There are over 430 TuesdayTogether groups across the world, which is so amazing!

I started leading the local TuesdaysTogether Lafayette group a little over a year ago. We are into our second year and it's so great getting to connect with all of the other creatives in Lafayette, Indiana.

Last year was my first Leaders Retreat, which was in San Francisco, and it was so much fun and I learned a lot. This retreat was no different! I ended up having to take an early flight out to New Orleans and then we had a little trouble getting there (our pilot pulled too far forward when we arrived in New Orleans so it took them over an hour to get us out of the plane!) so I missed the first couple of presentations but I got to watch them on the replay and still learned a ton!

Over 100 of us leaders from all over gathered in New Orleans at The Pontchartrain Hotel's The Parlor for the retreat. The hotel itself is gorgeous and it was perfect place to learn and connect.

I traveled light again this year so the images you see in this blog post are by the amazing Madison Short Photography. Be sure to check out her work at www.madisonrshort.com!

I arrived a bit late but I made it to the passive and diversified income panel!

After the first day's events wrapped up we had some downtime so I ventured to all of my favorite New Orleans locations that I would visit when I used to work for Norwegian Cruise Lines. I didn't have time to go everywhere but I did make it to Abbey Pub, Jackson Square and all the artists, and the mall I used to frequent. Later that night was the Masquerade Gala which was held on the rooftop of the hotel. I had been traveling since 1am that day so I went for a couple of drinks and then went back to my room to get some sleep.

Day two begins and we had a yummy beignets breakfast that was sponsored by Webbly.

We then heard from Jessica Rascall and the diversity panel.

Natalie wrapped stuff up and we said our goodbyes.

Of course, we had to take a few group photos! I then headed off to the airport to go home.

Huge thanks to all of the amazing sponsors!
