Ways To Celebrate Your Original Wedding Date If You Need To Postpone: Wedding Wednesday

Ways To Celebrate Your Original Wedding Date If You Need To Postpone Indiana Wedding Photographer Photography

We all know that this current season is life is all about postponements due to COVID-19 and that it has really affected couples who are planning their wedding. COVID postponements are the norm right now but wedding postponements can occur for a multitude of different reasons. It's never fun to have to make the call to postpone your wedding and when your original wedding date rolls around, it can be a sad and difficult day. However even if it's later than you originally expected, you will be getting married and that's the important thing! If you have found yourself in the position of having to postpone your wedding day, here are a few things that you can do to celebrate your original wedding date!

Have A Date Night In

Don't just treat your original wedding date as just another day. It was a significant day for you both so celebrate your love with a date night at your home. Order in some yummy take out and spend the day talking about the ways you love each other and how you are so excited for the new wedding date. Celebrating your love, which is the reason for your wedding, will make your original date super sweet!

Exchange Love Notes

One thing that I did for my wedding couples who had to postpone was I sent them a little kit that helped them draft up love letters and lists about why they love their fiancé! This is such a great way to celebrate your love and remember all the great times that you have had together and think about all the great times that are ahead!

Get Your Wedding Cake

Now, ordering a 5 tier extravagant cake may be a bit much for the two of you, but see if your cake baker can make a small cake for you both in the flavors that you picked out for your wedding. This lets you not only eat cake but also get to celebrate your original date with something that will be at your wedding.

Celebrate With Your Friends

Gather up your gang and have a celebratory drink over Zoom or Skype! Getting to be together and see your friends and family can make the day spectacular! If you were planning on having a signature drink at your wedding, send the recipe to your friends and family so you all can have the same drink during your hang out!

Book A Mini Photo Session

Just because you don't get to have your wedding on your original date doesn't mean that you can't have some photos to remember this special time. Contact your photographer and see if you can purchase a little mini session so you can capture your love on your original wedding date. Most photographers are still able to operate in a socially distant manner so you can stay safe and get photos at the same time.

Do Something That You Love

Maybe you love taking a long walk together. Maybe you love grilling out in the backyard. Maybe you want to go canoeing or golfing. Maybe you love sitting on the couch eating nachos together. If there is something that you love to do together as a couple, go ahead and celebrate your original wedding date by doing something you love!
