Kirsten & Kyle | Proposal and Engagement | Downtown Lafayette, Indiana
Kirsten contacted me awhile back about photographing couple portraits of her and her boyfriend Kyle. Kyle is a marine and was going to be home for 14 days before heading back out to California. She wanted to get some couple portraits in before he had to leave. We found a day that worked for both of us and set the session up. A couple days before their session, I received a call from Kyle. He told me that he was buying an engagement ring and was going to propose to Kirsten. He was hoping that I could capture his proposal and that we could turn their couple's session into an engagement session. I was super excited! I have not had the opportunity to photograph a proposal before so I was excited to finally be able to do one and I knew that Kirsten was going to be excited and suprised.
The day of the session rolls around and it had decided it was going to snow about 7 inches the night before and was still steadily snowing. Kirsten and I, as well as Kyle and I, texted back and forth and decided that we would still do the session. Kyle was leaving in two days, so we couldn't really postpone and you know, he planned this HUGE SURPRISE! :) Needless to say, the snow was deep and I had to edited out some snowflakes on their faces, but the session was adorable! I actually love the snow falling in all the photos and I could not picture a prettier setting.
Enjoy some of my favorite images from their session below.
Kirsten and Kyle: Congratulations! I wish you all the best and a lifetime of love of happiness!
