Meet Denise and Ben! Denise and I actually used to work together at the Purdue Telefund when we were both attending Purdue University back in the day. When she first contacted me and booked me as her photographer we did everything over the phone/email since her and Ben live in Iowa. We didn't realize we both knew each other until after the booking process was over! Such a small world! I haven't seen her since my Purdue days so it was great getting to see her this weekend for their engagement session and to meet Ben and their adorable dogs!
Denise and Ben first met through mutual friends. Their story is pretty neat because they ended up going to a bar with their friends and Ben ended up approaching her similiar to how her father approached her mother when they first met. Ben said something along the lines of "get a drink for my future wife" which is almost exactly what her father said to her mother! How neat is that?!?! Denise thought, well this is fate, and they ended up talking and the rest is history!
Since Denise and Ben live out of state we had to schedule their engagement session around when they would be back in town. The first time we scheduled their session it ended up downpouring. We rescheduled to last Saturday since they would both be in town for Thanksgiving. The days leading up to their session it was looking grimm, calling for rain all day. However, the rain gods smiled at us and we had a rain free day! It was cold and gloomy, but it work out perfectly.
