One of the first things that you will do in your wedding planning process is to choose a venue. You will want to find the perfect venue for you and your vision that's available on your wedding date and within your budget. These tips will help you on your venue search.
Size
Does the venue able to accommodate the amount of people who are on your guest list? You will want to make sure the venue will be big enough but not too big. If you find the perfect venue and it's a little smaller than you expected, consider if you are able to cut your guest list down a bit.
Location
Is the venue in a location where there will be parking for your guests? If you have a lot of out of town guests, is the venue close to hotels?
What's Included
Is there a day of coordinator who is included in your wedding package or will you have to get a outside day of coordinator? You will also want to consider what is included within your rental. Do they set up the decorations or are you responsible? Do they supply tables, chair, linens?
Food/Drinks
Is outside food/drink permitted or will you need to use their caterers/bar staff? This isn't always make or break for a lot of people but if you have your heart set on a certain caterer then you will want to make sure they allow outside vendors.
All In One Location
Are you able to do your ceremony and reception there? Do they have a bridal and groom suite? Is there space for the cocktail hour? Are you able to do your rehearsal there the day before?
Cost
Is the venue within your budget? If the venue you fall in love with fits your budget, great! If not, you may have to re-evaluate your budget to see if you can make your dream venue work or you may want to look at other venues.
Decor Restrictions
Are there any restrictions on the decor? Some venues may ban candles, bubbles, gum, sparklers, etc. You will want to make sure you understand any restrictions.
