Tackle Those Last Minute Wedding Tasks With Ease: Wedding Wednesday

Indiana and Destination Wedding Photographer Photography Lafayette Indianapolis

Your wedding is coming up fast and you still have a lot of things left on your to-do list. Here are a few last minute wedding tasks that you can tackle fast with ease.

Make A List

First thing is first. Make a list of all the last minute things that you need to do. This will help you stay organized and you will feel more accomplished once you check an item off of your list. Keep this list in a place where you and your fiancé can access it so you can both add times to the list and easily see what still needs to be done.

Marriage License

Most states will not let you get your marriage license too far in advance so this is one of those things that you have to do at the last minute. Research your state's policy beforehand so you can put it on your calendar. Before you head down to the courthouse/city hall be sure to check their website to make sure you have the proper paperwork needed along with the fee amount, some locations only will take cash/checks.

Don't Be Afraid To Delegate

If you have a lot of items left on your to-do list or if you just have a lot of time then delegate some tasks to your wedding party, friends, or family. Most of the time they will be more than happy to help you out!

Changing Your Name

If you are changing your name then there are a lot of things you have to do. This will happen once your wedding is over and your wedding license is signed but you can still get on top of it now. There is a form to fill out which you can usually download online. Find out the process and where you will need to go so you can get it done fast after the wedding. Remember, your social security, drivers license, bank, reward clubs including airline travel programs, investment accounts, and insurance plans will need to be changed. If you are planning on going on your honeymoon after your wedding you will want to wait to change your name until after you have came back. Your passports, license, and airlines tickets will all be in your maiden name.

Change Your Address

If you are moving in together after the wedding or into a new place, you will want to make sure you put in a change of address form at the post office and update your subscriptions, bills, family, and friends. Change of address forms can be completed online and you should do so a few weeks before you move to make sure you still get your mail.

Confirm Guest Details

If you have guests who have not RSVP'd yet you will need to reach out and get their official RSVP for your seat count. If you have out of town guests who are in a room block or BnB then you will want to confirm their hotel and transpiration arrangements. If you are doing welcome bags, this is the time to complete them and have them ready to be delivered.

Final Head Count

Now that you have all the RSVP's and guest count it is time to confirm this amount with your caterer, venue, and wedding coordinator. This should be done at least a week before your wedding so they can prepare for what they need to make sure all of your guests are taken care of.

Double Check Your Attire

Make sure you have everything that you need for your big day. When you go in for your final dress/tux fitting, bring along everything that you will wear on your big day. This will make sure that your attire fits with everything that you have and if things need to be altered they will be able to take care of that.

Seating Chart

If you haven't completed your seating chart, now is the time to do so. Begin with your families and special friends/family members. From there you can work out to the rest of your guest list and singles table.

Confirm Honeymoon Reservations

Confirm all of your honeymoon reservations and make sure everything is taken care of and that there weren't any flight changes. Go ahead and correlate your passports and any other documents you may need. Packing in advance will also help ease up some stress after your wedding.

Emergency Kit

If your wedding party hasn't put together an wedding emergency kit, now is the time to do so. Make sure you have a sewing kit, scissors, hairspray, deodorant, pain relievers, clear nail polish, safety pins, and more. Another great things to have on hand is the phone numbers and emails for all of your wedding vendors that way if you need to get in touch with them you will have the info at your fingertips.
