Bridesmaid Bridal Prep Tips- Wedding Wednesday

Bridesmaid Wedding Tips Indiana Destination Wedding Photographer Photography Lafayette Indianapolis

If you are an upcoming bridesmaid then this blog post is for you! It's also for all of the brides who want to make sure their bridesmaids are prepared and ready for when it's time for you to get into your wedding dress.

1. Allow enough time for hair and makeup.

Just like with your hair and makeup you will want to make sure that there is enough time for your bridesmaids to get ready. Making sure that there is enough time allotted for your makeup and hair artists to do all of your bridesmaid's makeup and hair is ideal. You may even want to add in some buffer time in case a bridesmaid wants to do some makeup or hair changes/touchups.

2. Bridesmaids should be dressed before the bride gets dressed.

When it comes time for the bride to get dressed, all of her dress helpers should be dressed and ready. This makes sure that the getting ready photos look cohesive and more put together. Bridesmaids don't need to have full hair and makeup done at this point, depending on the timeline, as long as they're dressed the photos will look great!

3. Be on time!

Wedding days are jammed packed and the timelines are always tight. Making sure you arrive on time will help make sure the wedding day runs smoothly. Even something as small as being 5 minutes late can easily derail a wedding day timeline.

4. Correlate all your items in advance.

Make sure your dress, jewelry, shoes, wedding day emergency kit, etc is correlated and in one spot in advance. Packing your wedding day bag in advance will help put your mind at ease and make your day run smoother on the day of the wedding. You won't have to worry about forgetting your necklace if you know everything is ready to go in advance.

5. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Did your nail polish chip? Are your heels sinking into the ground during portraits? All of those things are okay and won't be noticed by guests or in the portraits! If you are able to be a little more relaxed and go with the flow then the wedding day won't be so stressful! :)

Bonus: Support the bride.

This one goes without saying but you are there to support the bride on her big day. Be available and willing to help out when needed. Making sure she stays hydrated and dealing with any issues that may arise will help make sure she is able to have the stressfree wedding of her dreams.
