Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Bryce and Madeline because these two got engaged on Saturday! These two have been together forever. They first met through their parents, Madeline's dad actually photographed Bryce's parents wedding, so they spent time together and started off as best friends. That quickly transitioned to love and they have been together ever since.
Bryce reached to me in September about his proposal plans. He wanted to propose November 1st at Happy Hollow Park in West Lafayette, Indiana. He knew it would be a great location with some fall color that he knew Madeline would love. We chatted about a good location at the park for the proposal and had all the plans in place. Madeline and Bryce had talked about marriage and even went ring shopping. Pretty much the day after Madeline found her dream ring, Bryce went back to the store in secret and purchased the ring. He's been hiding it from her for months and she had no idea! Madeline's sister had a performance in Lafayette the night of November 1st so he knew it would be a good day for the proposal and an easy way to make sure Madeline was dressed in a way that she'd want to be photographed. Before the proposal, he started implementing walks into their days together so she wouldn't be too suspicious when he mentioned they should go on a walk beforehand.
The plan was to have me at Happy Hollow Park prior to their arrival and then I'd hide off to the side of the start of the trail and then follow them from behind at a distance. When Bryce arrived to the proposal spot, he asked Madeline to take off her coat because he knew she wouldn't want that on for the photos. It was a chilly day so she was a bit apprehensive but agreed! It was the perfect proposal! Madeline had no idea that the proposal was going to happen this day so she was truly surprised!
After the proposal, we went around the park for a few couple portraits to celebrate!
Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their proposal below!
