Two weeks ago I got to celebrate a big milestone with Jasmine Norris Photography, 20 years of business! To celebrate the milestone, I held a 20th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting with Greater Lafayette Commerce at Rush Pavilion at Columbian Park.
When I started Jasmine Norris Photography, I was a junior at Purdue University, and I’m not sure I could have imagined that 20 years later I would still be here, still growing and doing the work that I love.
I actually began as a concert photographer and over time my path evolved into weddings and corporate events. That shift gave me the privilege of documenting some of the most meaningful days in people's lives, especially their wedding day, creating images that allow couples not only to relive those moments, but to preserve their love story for future generations to enjoy.
One thing that has always been important to me is that this business be more than photography. Giving back has been part of Jasmine Norris Photography from the very beginning and throughout the years a portion of sales each year are donated to support many different causes and organizations, especially within our local community.
I’m also proud that for the past nine years, Jasmine Norris Photography has been a carbon neutral company. We’ve helped neutralize more than 720,000 pounds of carbon emissions. This year alone, that work will help neutralize 80,000 pounds of carbon emissions, recover 80 pounds of ocean bound plastic, and restore 15,000 gallons of water back to ecosystems.
As I celebrate this milestone, I’m incredibly grateful. Not just for 20 years in business, but for the relationships, trust, and support that made these 20 years possible.
It’s thanks to all of you that I’ve been able to do what I love for the past two decades.
Here's to the next 20 years!
I would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out to help me celebrate, Eric and my parents for helping me set up and tear down, Nate with New Adventure Productions for taking these amazing photos for me, the city officials for their support, and the commerce for all their help in setting this up and taking photos as well.
If you want to watch the live stream from the event, you can do so HERE.
