I have something a little special and unique for you today! Meet Katie and her adorable grandmothers! I've been holding on to this since March since I had to wait until after Katie's wedding! Katie's mother Kathy contacted me with a super fun and special idea. Katie is getting married in April but her grandmothers would not be able to attend. They wanted to do something special for them so decided to surprise them with a first look with Katie in March. Both grandmothers live in Indiana and Lafayette was a central location for them to meet. Katie and her parents live out of state so they flew in for this special surprise.
We all met up at The Stables in Lafayette, Indiana for their session. When we first arrived, we tucked Katie and her parents away in the bridal suite and I waited for her grandmothers to arrive. The grandmothers were told absolutely nothing! They were told that they should dress nice but that the destination was a surprise. When they arrived, I told them that I would be taking their portraits so Katie could display their image at her wedding so they would be there in spirit. We sat them on a bench and I started taking their photos. While I was taking their photos, Katie walked down the stairs and started walking up behind them and completely surprised them! There were so many tears and hugs and it was a truly special moment.
