Out of all your wedding vendors, your photographer will be one of the only vendors that will be with you throughout your whole wedding.
Your florist and cake baker will come and deliver and set up your items, your caterer will come and set up and serve the meal during the dinner portion of the night, and your DJ will be present during the reception. Your wedding photographer will be with you from the start to finish. They will be present while you are getting ready and stay until the reception is almost over or until your send off.
You will want to take your photographers personality into consideration when deciding on what wedding photographer you would like to book. You want to make sure that your photographer is someone who you will want to be around you throughout your whole wedding and make sure it is someone who will make you feel comfortable.
This is why I always try to schedule a meeting with potential couples, be it an in person meeting, Skype call, or phone chat. I want each couple to get to know me and I want to get to know each couple to see if we are a good fit. I also offer complimentary engagement sessions with each of my packages because it is a great way for us to get to know each other and get a feel for how we work both in front and behind the camera.
While your photographers style and your budget will play a big part in deciding who to hire, you will also want to take their personality into consideration as well and find someone who you will enjoy having around you throughout the whole process.
