Getting Ready and Detail Portrait Tips: Monday Wedding Madness

While you (the Bride) are getting ready at the ceremony venue, there is a ton of stuff going on. Your makeup and hair ladies are busy getting everyone ready for the day, your parents are more than likely getting the last minute touches done, and you and your bridesmaids are having a mimosa and attempting to relax before the big moment comes!

With all of this comes some clutter. Makeup, hairspray, curling and flat irons, cups, champagne, glasses, food, shoes, wedding attire, normal clothing, cell phones and chargers, and a ton of other items. Most bridal prep rooms become a madhouse because that is just what happens during a wedding!

However, since you will be having you getting ready portraits in this location it is best if you keep at least a section of the room clutter free. That way while you are putting on your dress you will not have a ton of water bottles and shoes in the background. This area that you keep clutter free would be best if it is close to a window so your photographer will have a lot of natural light to help your portraits look beautiful.

You should plan for your bridesmaids/mother/grandmother or whoever will be helping you get into your dress to be dressed or in their matching robes. This helps the portraits be cohesive and look put together.

Another thing that helps is to just have the people who will be helping you get into your dress present while you are in fact getting into your dress. This just helps with distractions.

Besides getting some portraits of you and your ladies getting their hair and makeup done and you getting into your dress you will want to keep the following items near and ready when your photographer arrives so they can capture detail photos for you.

1. Jewelry

2. Shoes

3. Veil

4. Dress

5. Invitations and Stationary

6. Special Details

7. Bouquet

8. Rings

9. Garter

10. Letter or gift from your future spouse
