During a wedding reception there are a ton of special events. Everything from the first dance to the cutting of the cake. For your reception you can really make the event your own and include in the events that you love the most and even incorporate in some unique events.
One event that isn't always done that I love to photograph is the anniversary dance! An anniversary dance is where your DJ will invite all of the married people onto the dance floor for a dance and will slowly start eliminating couples until the couple who has been married the longest will be left on the dance floor. They then will give a little piece of advice for the bride and groom.
As a photographer, I LOVE the anniversary dance because it gets some of the older (and younger) guests who wouldn't normally be on the dance floor up and dancing. The anniversary dance lets me get some beautiful portraits for all of the couples on the dance floor, which is not only a special thing for my brides and grooms to have but it lets them have a photo that they can pass on to their guests that they will love.
Below are a few examples!
