Tips for Your First Look- Wedding Wednesday

5 Tips for Your First Look Indiana Wedding Photographer

First Looks are an amazing part of the wedding day! It is when you and your soon-to-be spouse will get to see each other for the first time and you will get to have that time captured in your portraits. After the first look is complete we will then move onto your couple portraits. Here are a few tips for you to keep in mind for your first look.

- Brides, be sure to have your bouquet and grooms, be sure to have your boutonniere pinned on before the first look. You will want to have your flowers for your first look and couple portraits so make a little reminder to make sure that they will be in the same room where you will be getting ready.

- Wear your rings. Don't give your wedding bands to your Maid of Honor and Best Man just yet! You will want to have your rings for your first look and couple portraits.

- Try to forget that your photographer is there and just be in the moment with your soon-to-be spouse. I know it may feel a little awkward to have your photographer snapping photos but just focus on your spouse.

- Try not to have any expectations. Some couples will cry when they see each other, some will just smile and kiss, and some will hug and admire each other. Don't force anything and don't feel pressured or upset if tears don't start flowing. All couples are different and everyone expresses their joy in a different way.

- Choose a location that is away from your guests, wedding party, and family. You will want your first look to be in a private moment between just the two of you. Having your first look in a location away from people will let that moment be tender and special. Your first look and couple portraits is one of the only moments during your wedding day when you and your spouse will be alone during your wedding day. Enjoy this time with just the two of you and let your family and friends know that you will be ready to party with them afterwards.
