It's time for the Behind The Scenes blog for 2021!!!! I know this is one of your favorite blogs because you get a glimpse into what I do behind the scenes on wedding days! I suck at taking behind the scene images, I'm always so busy photographing my couple's gorgeous weddings, but I have a few images for you!
Even though 2021 was somewhat of a weird year, it was still an amazing year for me! Jasmine Norris Photography was published over 20 times and won 15 different awards, I photographed so many adorable couples in love, I was able to teach a master class at WPPI all about getting published as a wedding photographer, I was able to photograph Indiana Fashion Week, Eric and I were able to go on a few fun vacations, and so much more!
First let's start with the behind the scene images!
I always leave the house for weddings at least 1 hour early just in case I run into any traffic or detours. When traffic is flowing smoothly, this means that I sometimes arrive before the venue is set up. Hence this fun mirror photo at the Hotel Carmichael!
The typical BTS photos of me and my amazing couples!
--> Don't mind my weird crouching positions, sometimes I have to get a weird position to get everything in the best composition!
I'm always there for my couples to help them cut the cake or show them how to toss the bouquet.
Sometimes other vendors catch me in my element! Here I am photographing some gorgeous invitations.
In the below photos, you can play "spot the photographer"!
Sometimes, I like to think that I'm funny and provide some laughter for my wedding couples....
Always making sure everyone is looking their best! From fixing hair to adjusting suit jackets....
To fluffing all the dresses and veils.
Testing the light photos are always fun and I get to capture my second shooters and the videographers doing their thing.
--> and sometimes my second photographers capture me while they are testing the light!
My second photographers also help make sure everyone looks their best and help me with the famous veil shots!
Got to lead some fun shoots this year like this amazing multi-colored wedding shoot!
And this fun carnival shoot for Indiana Fashion Week!
Speaking of Indiana Fashion Week, I loved getting to be their lead photographer this year and some of the other photographers caught me in my element!
I filmed a new promo video for my business and am grateful for my friends and industry peers who helped me out!
Speaking of testing the light, my couples (and their pets!) sometimes like to make some funny faces while I do so!
Or sometimes the wind likes to blow and make a piece of hair look like a perfectly styled mustache!
Sometimes a celebrity may make an appearance! Like Michael Myers...
OR DANNY TREJO!!!
Sometimes, a veil may blow off during a photo but it's okay because I will help you put it back in.
I was so happy to be awarded a Stevie Award again this year! I received a Gold Stevie Award in Company of the Year- Consumer Services- Small Business and a Silver Stevie Awards in Energy Industry Innovation of the Year!
What you may not know, is that some of my photos I post of myself on social media are taken in my office with a tripod and trigger.
I also like to wear lots and lots of festive headbands.
I got to speak at WPPI again this year! I led a class all about How To Get Published As A Wedding Photographer!
My friend and fellow photographer, Victoria, came with me and we had a blast! We also went to see the Welcome To Las Vegas sign. I have been to Vegas countless times throughout my life but have never made it to see the sign!
Now to some personal photos...
Eric and I had a fancy date night in Indianapolis and took some photos!
We also took a vacation to Mackinaw and Mackinac and had an amazing time!
We explored the island.
And stayed at an amazing cabin that was right on the water!
We also had fun seeing fun roadside attractions like the largest spray foam hotdog.
And a Stonehenge in someones yard.
We also took a mini trip to Louisville for our anniversary! We did some sightseeing.
Went to Octoberfest!
And ate an amazing anniversary dinner at La Chasse!
We got to see Mohammad Ali's grave and a beam from the World Trade Center.
And we stopped at the largest rocking chair on the way home!
It was a fun trip!
We also took in a baseball game.
And ate some amazing food!
AND another that happened this year is that Eric and I got engaged!!!! 2021 was a really great year!
The whole family dressed up for the holidays!
