Prophetstown State Park Proposal West Lafayette Indiana: Juan & Deana

Juan and Deana are engaged! Proposals are always so much fun to photograph! Juan reached out to me earlier last month to get info on photography for his proposal plans. Him and Deana go on an annual hike around Prophetstown State Park each year and he thought that would be perfect place for the proposal. Once the ring was complete, we hopped on a Zoom chat so we could talk about a good spot for the proposal at Prophetstown. We landed on the larger pond area that's at the back of the park. It would be an easier area for both of us to get to and I could just look like I was there taking photos of the wildlife. Luckily, there was a gray and white crane there that helped make my cover complete!
Once they got to the pond, Juan told Deana he wanted to take a photo of her there since on a previous walk, he had taken a photo of her with their dog in that spot. After the photo, they hugged and chatted for a bit and then Juan dropped to one knee and asked Deana for her hand in marriage. She said yes! Deana said that while she knew a proposal would be in the future, she had absolutely no idea that he was going to do it today on the hike so she was completely surprised!
Juan knew that Deana may not want to take photos in their hiking outfits so he snuck a couple of dresses and shoe options into his car that she could change into. After they changed we took some portraits around the park.
Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their proposal below and be sure to give these two some congratulations!!!
